The NCAA Committee on Infractions hammered the USC football program on June 10, 2010 with the worst sanctions ever handed down outside of SMU's death penalty back in 1987.

Paul Dee, the COI chairman, told USC they would forfeit two future postseason appearances, 30 scholarships over three years and allowed any junior or senior on the roster to transfer without penalty. USC also had to vacate wins from 2004 and 2005, remove all likenesses of Reggie Bush from the campus and spend four years on probation.

As the athletic director of the University of Miami, Dee oversaw two of the most egregious scandals in college sports history. Yet somehow this hypocrite was permitted to chair the COI and charge the Trojans with Lack of Institutional Control, sanctimoniously proclaiming that USC "should have known" what Bush's parents were doing 110 miles from campus.

The next recruiting class for USC will only be permitted to sign 15 prospects instead of 25 and carry a total roster in 2014 of just 75 scholarship players instead of 85. No school in the history of college football has been forced to play down 10 scholarships for one season, let alone three (following signing 15 in February, 2012).

Can the Trojans handle this adversity and "Fight On!" through the unfair sanctions? Can interim head coach Ed Orgeron battle through the Pac-12 playing with 10 men down?

Every victory until the sanctions end will be that much sweeter knowing the Trojans are playing shorthanded. You can remind everyone of that by sporting one of our "Our 75 are better than your 85" gear!
